players were attracted to Kalamazoo for the Amateur Championship,
which took place November 3-4 at Western Michigan University.
Andy Catlin repeats as champ. This time he takes
clear first, acheiving 5 wins in 5 games in the 58 player main
section. In the concurrent Scholastic Event, Ruifeng Li also ran
the gauntlet to a perfect score. He managed six wins in six games
in the 25 player event, which was open to those Under age 18 and Under Rating
700.
