2010 Bottom Half Class Championship
The 2010 Bottom-Half Tournament, held June 26-27, 2010, produced 68 players and outstanding competition at all levels. Very positive feedback was received regarding the venue at the Holiday Inn in Grand Rapids.
The Open division attrached 3 players over 2200 but all suffered upsets by lower rated players.
Kevin Czuhai won with 4½ out of 5, as did Duane Croel in the U1900 section. Joel Halloran took the U 1700 prize with a perfect 5.0 score and Vijay Kodali took home the U1500 title on tie breaks finishing with 4.0 along with Alan Kaufman and Nick Schwerin.
Arkadiy Frasinich also edged out Jonah Lowery and Hogbin Chen on tie breaks with a 4.0 score to take home the U 1300 prize. Matthew Nolan was the clear U1100 prize winner with 4.5.
