2008 Junior Champions
Jennifer Skidmore reports that a total of 380 entrants participated in the 9-section Michigan Junior at Oakland University over March 15-16.
The Michigan Junior (K-12) winners are:
1 Shetty, Atulya 5.0
2 Schilleman, Andrew 4.5
3 Canty III, James 4.0
4 Jia, Roger 4.0
5 Kemp, Kayeen 4.0
Atulya Shetty will also receive a $500 scholarship upon proof of enrollment in an institution of higher education. He is a 6th-grader.
Andrew Schilleman will also receive a $250 scholarship upon proof of enrollment in an institution of higher education. As the top HS finisher, he will represent Michigan at the Denker invitational tournament of High School Champions this summer in Dallas.
Both the Young Junior (K-8) and Young Childrens (K-3) sections were won by Michael Chen. Michael is a 2nd grader!
The Childrens (K-5) section was won by Kyle Webster.

Chandler Cheech, Young Junior Reserve (K-8 R)
Jordan Candie and Ivan Keener, Children's Reserve (K-5 R)
Andrew Jenkins, Young Children's Reserve (K-3 R)
Representing the adults, Gene Hickey topped the Junior Sponsors side event. Ray Garrison took the honors in the Children's Sponsors side event.
