Format:

Open to 4 player teams with one optional alternate.
Two sections: Open and Reserve: Team average (4 highest ratings – Jan 2023 Rating List) must be under 2200 for Open, average must be under 1600 for Reserve.

Time Control:

5SS, G/90+30/increment, 2-day: rd.1-2 G/60, d5.

Rounds:

Schedule: 3-day: on-site registration 2/17 5:30-6:30pm, rds.: 7pm; 10:00am & 4:00pm; 10:00am & 3:30pm. 2-day: on-site registration/check-in 2/18 8:00-9:30am, rds. 10:00am & 1:00pm then merge with 3-day.

Entry Fee:

EF: $180 per team if received USPS or online 6pm by Feb. 5, $200 if received USPS or online 6pm by Feb. 12, $220 online until Feb. 17 9:30am and on site. Individuals wishing to play send $50 by USPS or on-line by 2/12 6pm, $60 thereafter and request to be put on a team. (Note: we can guarantee you will play, but can’t guarantee which schedule, which board you will play, or the ratings of your team. Teams are formed the day of the event.) Prizes: Open: Winning team qualifies for national play-offs. Awards to top 3 teams, top teams average rating u2000, u1800, top college team, top high school team, top junior team (HS & under), top senior team (all 50 & over), top mixed doubles team (2 men & 2 women), top individual score on each board. Reserve: Top 2 teams, top teams average rating u1300, U1000, top K-8 team, top female team, top individual score each board. Special Prizes: Best team name, best costume or theme. Prizes are clocks or bookstore credit.
