5 Round Swiss. USCF REGULAR Rated. 4 Sections: Open, Under 1100, Under 900, Under 600 .

🎃 Michigan Scholastic Bughouse Tournament 👻

*(Hosted at the Spooky Halloween Chess Tournament)*

### 💰 Entry Fee

* $15 per player ($30 per team).
* All scholastic players welcome (K–12).

### 👥 Teams

* Teams of **2 players**.
* **Pumpkin Patch Pool**: players without a partner will be paired before Round 1.

### ⏱️ Time Control

* **G/5 minutes** (5 minutes per player, no delay).
* Each match = **2 games** (teams switch boards/colors).

### 🌀 Format

* **5 Rounds, Double-Game Matches** (10 games total).
* Swiss system — no elimination.
* Team scoring:

* Win Match = 1 point
* Draw Match = 0.5
* Loss = 0

### 🏆 Trophies & Awards

* **State Champion Team** – 1st place
* **2nd Place Team**
* **3rd Place Team**
* **Best Team Costume Award** 🎭

### 📅 Schedule

* Bughouse starts **immediately after the main Halloween tournament concludes**.
* Registration closes before Round 1 pairings (on-site sign-up for bughouse).

### 🎃 Extra Touch

* Teams encouraged to wear **matching costumes**.
* Photos of champions will be posted on Implodianschess.com and Michigan Chess Association page.
